Phillip Long
Phillip Long is Associate Director in the Office of Educational Innovation and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Director of Learning Outreach for MIT iCampus. He is responsible for research and evaluation of innovative uses of technology in the MIT education. He leads the MIT iCampus dissemination effort, freely sharing technology tools for active learning and scalable web services for undergraduate instruction.
Current research interests focus on designing learning spaces to support active, authentic learning, software to authentic and active learning pedagogies, and virtual worlds. Among other diverse activities and interests, Dr. Long is also a Senior Associate with the TLT Group, a non-profit dedicated to improve teaching and learning by making more appropriate and cost-effective use of information technology.
